Salon-Style Grooming to Reduce the Stress

Our experienced groomers offer a salon-style grooming experience for your cats and dogs. This one-on-one treatment reduces the stress for your pet and ensures it is pampered and well-cared for during it's grooming session.

Costs for grooming vary per dog, the condition they are in and the time that it takes to complete. Call today for an estimate.

Our Grooming Procedures

Drop Off:
When arriving at Waggerstown for your grooming appointment, you can enter the lobby and your groomer will be with you shortly. If no one acknowledges or sees you, there is a buzzer on the counter that you can press to let them know you are there. You should explain to the groomer exactly what you would like done on each visit and if there are any medical conditions they should be aware of. If you are repeat customer, you should remind the groomer what should be done and about any medical conditions each time you drop off your pet so that it is fresh in their minds while caring for your pet. Please note: there is a $20/hr charge for picking your pet up late for the first offense and $25/hr for second and third. After the third offense, we will take the situations case by case. Please be on time to pick up your pets to help us keep our atmosphere stress-free for all the pets in our care and prevent groomers from being interrupted while grooming your pets.

Payment:
Payment can be made directly to the groomer by cash, check or by using a credit/debit card right at the grooming salon. 

Appointments and Cancellations:
To make an appointment, you can call (207) 630-4091 and we will explain the entire process and answer any questions you may have. Due to being salon style, any grooming no-shows or cancellations on the same day may be charged $50 per pet scheduled and any cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment may be charged $25 per pet scheduled. If the cost for the grooming is less than the charge, the cost of the grooming will be used. Nail clips and Nail files can cancel at any time with no charges being applied.

Shot Records and Pet Information:
If you are a new client to Waggerstown, we will need a copy of rabies and distemper for your pet(s). You can either bring a copy of them to your appointment and we will make a copy or you can have them faxed to (800) 801-9401 or emailed to waggerstown@maine.rr.com. We also need new clients to fill out the "Owner and Pet Information Form" at the bottom of this page to save time when you arrive from having to fill out a client card.

Existing clients will be required to bring updated shot records on or before your next grooming appointment so that we can update your information.

By clicking "Submit" below, the client acknowledges that fees are subject to change due to may variables and will be determined by groomer after service completion. You are also allowing Waggerstown to seek emergency veterinary care with release from all liabilities related to transportation, treatment and expense. Should specified veterinarian be available. Waggerstown is authorized to approve medical and/or emergency treatment (excluding euthanasia) as recommended by a veterinarian. Client agrees to reimburse Waggerstown for expenses incurred. Waggerstown agrees to provide services stated in this contract in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services, has expressed condition therefore, the client expressly waves and relinquishes any and all claims against Waggerstown and/or its groomers. In the event of personal injury or illness of scheduled groomer, client authorizes Waggerstown to arrange for another qualified person to fulfill responsibility as set forth in this contract. All pets are to be currently vaccinated. Should Waggerstown or its employ be exposed to disease received from client's animal, which has not been properly and currently vaccinated, it will be the client's responsibility to pay all costs and damages incurred by the victim. Due to the unpredictable nature of animals, we cannot accept any responsibility for any mishaps for extraordinary or unusual nature. Nor can Waggerstown be held reliable for injury under these circumstances. Waggerstown and its groomers are covered by liability insurance. All said coverage is current and up to date. Waggerstown reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time before or during its term, if Waggerstown, in its sole discretion, determines that a danger to the health and safety of its groomers. If concerns prohibit Waggerstown for caring for a pet, client will be notified to pick up their pet as soon as possible and be charged for the work completed. Client authorizes this contract to be valid for future services of any purpose provided by this contract permitting Waggerstown to accept telephone reservations for services without additional signed contracts or written authorization. In the unlikely event of pet's death, client will be notified as soon as possible in order to receive further instruction. Waggerstown does not offer overnight boarding of pets in their facility. Client is expected to return for their pet in a timely fashion. If any pet is abandoned overnight, Waggerstown will apply a $75 fee for each night of care.

Release Form for De-Matting or Severely Matted Pets:

Dogs with severely matted coats require extra attention. Waggerstown and its groomers will not cause serious or undue stress to pets by de-matting. Mats can be difficult to remove and may require pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin, fungus, bacteria or mold to grow, and/or revealing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After-effects of mat removal can include redness, itchiness, self-inflicted irritations, or abrasions, and failure of hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. The owner hereby releases Waggerstown and its groomers from any liability associated with any and all injuries or medical problems that may be uncovered and/or occur during the stripping and de-matting process. Should a pet need veterinarian care after or during the process of de-matting, the owner agrees to pay any and all veterinarian fees.
